California AB 1305 Compliance and Emissions Disclosure
Our Commitment to Transparency and Climate Action
In compliance with California AB 1305, we are committed to full transparency regarding our emissions reduction initiatives and carbon credit offerings. AB 1305 requires us to provide accurate and detailed information on the sources, use, and verification of carbon credits sold to customers.
We ensure that every carbon credit sale will directly contribute to the removal of carbon dioxide emissions from the atmosphere, aligning with California’s regulatory standards for carbon offset projects.
Spiritus Overview and Project Description
Spiritus is a solid sorbent direct air capture (DAC) company developing highly scalable, high-durability carbon dioxide removal (CDR). Spiritus’s novel sorbent technology and low-energy desorption process allow for drastic reductions in the cost of sorbent production, energy consumed per ton of CO2 removed, and CAPEX.
Spiritus’ will deploy its initial 1ktpa pilot in 2025 in New Mexico in the lead up to its first Carbon Orchard – referred to as Orchard One - in Wyoming. Orchard One will start at ~2-10ktpa alongside co-located geological sequestration in late 2026. The project can quickly scale up from there to 1Mtpa of geologically sequestered carbon removal by 2031.
Carbon Credit Project Disclosures
- Project Locations: New Mexico (pilot) and Wyoming (Orchard One)
- Project Type: Carbon dioxide removal - Direct Air Capture (DAC)
- Methodology: At present Spiritus has not yet selected a specific MRV partner or protocol for its initial commercial deployment. Spiritus is in discussions with multiple MRV partners for its earliest deployment. Longer term, Spiritus is working with MRV provider Absolute Climate to develop a new approach to the quantification and verification of DAC carbon removal. Spiritus will notify buyers of updates to its MRV plans as those conversations develop.
- Supporting Data: Buyers have access to supporting documentation behind Spiritus performance and project plans through offtake data rooms.
